recently，from ‘me too’ to ‘pua’, the disadvantageousposition of women has been recognized as one of the most important socialissues. meanwhile, feminism also becomes a household word. as roma is not builtin a day, to change females’ socialstatus needs the efforts of several generations. the thorn birds bycolleen mccullough develops around the life story of three generations’ women, picturing the awakening of female consciousnesson the wide-open australian landscape. likewise, the growth of women needs thehelp and understanding from the men. through the communication between malesand females, their standings and rights manifest spontaneously. thisdissertation views the progression of a family by analyzing the discourse oftwo sexes.
