1. 研究目的与意义（文献综述）

research purpose:

the great gatsby, published in 1925, is the masterpiece of f.scott fitzgerald. and the book is widely considered to be a literary classic and a contender for the title of the “great american novel”. the chinese versions are various and most researchers mainly focus on the versions of naiqiang yao, ningkun wu, jihong li, and george kao. however, the study of the translation in 2012 of the female writer ruoxu deng has received little attention. in the investigation of the author, the latter version is recently popular among the readers on mass media. under the guidance of eco-translatology theory, this research would try to make a comparative study on the two chinese versions from ningkun wu and ruoxu deng, aiming to explore and analyze the translators’ subjective adaption and selection of their translations.
