1. 研究目的与意义

Pride and Prejudice is a worldwide classic work created by Jane Austin, who has the equal honor with Shakespeare. This novel described several couples#8217; affection and marriage problems through the main characters#8217; experience, which happened in British countryside, the end of 18th century.For a very long time, countless experts have been continuing to research the writer#8217;s views of marriage and analyzing different marriage views in the novel. Throughout four different marriages with four different basis, this novel told people that love is the foundation of marriage while good possession is the necessary guarantee. This view of marriage helps human beings to make correct and rational choices in marriages. Also, people#8217;s living situation and their ideas in that time can be learnt. Combining these two aspects, the nowadays younger can analyze the basis of marriage perfectly.

2. 研究内容和预期目标

This paper aims to analyzing four main different marriages to sum up the determinate factors of marriage, one of the most important themes from ancient time to modern society, through most of the details in Pride and Prejudice. Besides, telling nowadays human being how carefully and significantly should love and marriage be treated is the second goal because of the more complicate social background and social reality. It is helpful for people to find their loves and possess living satisfaction.

Xie Rencheng(2014) believed that Jane Austen not only expressed her thoughts on marriage, but also her views on the feminism in her paper#8216;Jane Austen#8217;s View of Marriage in Pride and Prejudice#8217;. According to her opinion, The issue about marriage was prevailing in Austen''s time. Although this time has passed a far, Austen#8217;s views on marriage continue to inspire modern people. 'The more we change, the more we stay the same.' This is a very special but enlightening view of Austen and her Pride and Prejudice.Sun Xiangning(2011) thought that Austen have given her answer about whether economic factor should become a standard of marriage. The answer is that only basing on true love and real affection can marriage be happy and permanent. Meanwhile Austen acknowledged possession and status have some guiding functions. However, getting married just for money and possession is forbidden.
