research objectives and meanings

automobile is one of the most important means of transportation. the level of its design and manufacturing is an important symbol of the scientific and technological development in various countries. the automobile industry is capital-intensive, technology-intensive, talent-intensive, comprehensive and economically efficient. therefore, almost all the industrial developed countries in the world regard it as the pillar industry of national economy without any exception.[1] at the same time, it is also a symbol of the development level of social material life, because the number of cars increases with the increase of national capita income level. in many developed countries, the number of cars is enormous and has reached thousands of households, thus leading to remarkable changes in people's social life style.[2] since the reform and opening up, china's economy has developed rapidly, and the demand for automobiles is getting stronger and stronger. in order to rapidly improve the production capacity and technical level of domestic automobiles, china's automobile industry began to embark on the path of cooperating with foreign automobile enterprises and digesting foreign advanced technologies. since the 21st century, china's automobile industry has been developing at a speed that shocked the whole world, and china is becoming the most promising automobile market in the world.[3]

transmission is an essential part of powertrain of traditional automobile and hybrid electric vehicle. [4]its performance has an important influence on the dynamic, economy and comfort of the vehicle.[5] since the first car, engineers have been directly focusing their attention on the vehicle's transmission system to make driving easier.[6] most of the manufacturers of domestic economy cars are using the mechanical transmission. although it has many shortcomings, such as large volume, vibration and noise, powerful shift impact, complex operation, etc., its high transmission efficiency, long service life, mature manufacturing process, reliable work performance and cheap price still attract many companies.[7] therefore, due to the market demand and practical factors, the mechanical transmission would still occupy half of the automobile market for a long time.

the main problems to be solved in this paper are as follows:

1. master the design method of automobile transmission and the calculation process of relevant parameters.
