As Napoleon once declared, #8220;When China wakes, it will shake the world,#8221; tremendous advancements in China#8217;s economy and breathtaking rise in its status, in recent years, have consequently sparked an irresistible and hectic trend towards devolving socialism with Chinese characters, a dominant engine driving its development by leaps and bounds. Among all materials, ranging from classical books to contemporary journals, there is nothing but Chinese political essays that can best illustrate characteristics of Chinese political system. Translation of political essays is consequently important to manifest these Chinese Characters to the whole world. Unfortunately, mistakes are commonly seen in English versions of some political article even government reports, thus the foreigners possibly fail to understand or even misunderstanding those political essays. Therefore, to be a mirror faithfully and accurately reflecting Chinese politics, any government report and political articles should be translated in accordance with scientific principles and effective strategies.

With staggering progresses in recent years especially since the implementation of the policy of reform and opening up, China calls for a stronger voice in the international arena, for which China#8217;s translators have been striving to translate political essays correctly and smoothly so that foreigners can truly grasp the essence of Chinese political system. Meanwhile, overseas scholars have been exerting efforts to exploring those essays from the perspective of some existing translational theories, such as Domestication and Foreignization proposed by Lawrence Venuti, Functional equivalence maintained by Nida, as well as Skopos Theory represented by Hans J. Vermeer, and so on. Besides, an overwhelming majority of scholars have reached a consensus that to efficiently transverse into English version, it#8217;s imperative to analyze stylistic features of government reports. Moreover, several translation strategies need to be flexibly used due to lexical and syntactic differences between Chinese and English.
