1. 研究目的与意义

In the development of human languages, almost any language in the world will be influenced by other languages. In fact, this phenomenon is also the development of the language itself. Translation is an effective way to spread cultures. However, in the process of translation, some parts of the foreign literary works were overly Europeanized, which did not conform to the expression rules of Chinese. Therefore, it is important to know something about Europeanization and avoid excessive Europeanization.

2. 研究内容和预期目标

My paper will give a brief introduction of Europeanized Chinese and try to point out solutions to some sentence patterns which easily lead to Europeanized Chinese during the process of translation. In the first part, I will introduce the origin of Europeanized Chinese and what is Chinese Europeanization actually. Then I will point out the advantages and disadvantages of the Chinese Europeanization. In the third part, this paper will focus on some specific sentence patterns, such as passive sentences, long attributive and adverbial sentences, and try to translate such kinds of sentences according to the idiomatic expression rules of Chinese. It is an important way to understand foreign cultures by translating foreign literary works and Chinese Europeanization has disturbed translators a lot. This is why I attempt to make a research on this topic.

3. 国内外研究现状

From the May 4th Movement, many scholars, such as Hu Shi, Lu Xun, Mao Dun and Zhu Zi Qing, has paid attention to the Europeanized Chinese. They all expressed their opinions on this problem from the aspect of literature. In 2011, Zhu Yi Fan pointed out the influence of Europeanization from the aspect of translation in 《翻译与现代汉语的变迁1905-1936》. In the book, he pointed out that Europeanization was inevitable. At the same time, some Europeanized Chinese which obeyed the development of Chinese should be avoided. As regards foreign research, Kubler#8217;s A Study of Europeanized Grammar in Modern Chinese Written Language had a comprehensive research on the Europeanization.
